A couple weeks ago I published a new crochet pattern, and posted a photo of it on instagram. It blew up!!

It got over 1000 likes in 24 hours! I’ve never had that happen! As of now it’s at 2100, which just blows my mind. Etsy put out a tends article not too long ago, declaring llamas to be dead and sloths back on the rise…and turns out they were right! After I read that, I knew I needed to make a new sloth pattern, and since I’m basically obsessed with planters right now, I decided to combine the two! You can find the pattern on Etsy and Ravelry!

My sloth planter is definitely one of the cutest things I’ve ever made! It fits those tiny succulents you can grab at home depot & lowes perfectly, and it’ll be a year or two before they’ll need replanting. You definitely want to remove the planter when it’s watering time, though!

To make this guy, you’ll need worsted (weight 4) yarn and/or super bulky (weight 6) yarn, and a couple of different hooks. The planter body & legs are made holding 2 strands of worsted yarn together (or use super bulky yarn) with a 6mm hook, while the face is made with a single strand of worsted and a 4mm hook. Construction is pretty simple, though making the face is a tad bit tedious IMO. But super worth it.
