I really wanted to make it look like an amigurumi pattern turned into a bag, so I used safety eyes, and I think I nailed it.

 

 

This is an intermediate level pattern. You'll need to use the under-over method of single crochet for this pattern, and you can learn how with my tutorial on youtube here. You'll need to be comfortable working in the round, changing colors, sewing on small parts, and embroidering facial features. Having amigurumi experience is extremely valuable for this project!

 

 

Supplies

Super bulky (weight 6) polyester yarn (Bernat Blanket)

Worsted (weight 4) yarn - just for the face details

6mm and 4mm hooks

yarn needle

9 inch zipper

fabric

18mm safety eyes

1 inch slide buckle

I used a slide buckle to make an adjustable strap! It's very easy to use. Instead of making one long, continuous strap like I've done in a couple previous patterns, I decided to keep it more simple for this one. 

 

But of course, this is your bag, you can do the strap however you like! Including sewing the strap higher up on the bag and making it a longer, crossbody style instead. Whatever works best for you!
