Halloween alert! Spooky season is upon us! Kind of! Well regardless, I'm ready, and I've got the pattern to prove it! Check out my new chonky spider coaster:
The crochet pattern is available here at HELLOhappy, Etsy, Ravelry, and Ribblr.
Just look at her, she is precious!
Okay maybe don't look too close.
My new chonky spider coaster pattern is more of an advanced beginner level. I marked it as intermediate level on the sales pages everywhere, but the crochet is pretty simple. Crocheting with embroidery floss and a 2mm hook is definitely a challenge though! Just the materials alone make it more advanced, even if the crochet itself is not. So I marked it as intermediate just to be safe.
Supplies
- Worsted (weight 4) cotton yarn (I used Sugar n Cream, but Dishie is a great choice as well)
- Embroidery floss (or weight 10 crochet thread)
- 3.5mm and 2mm hook
- yarn needle and an embroidery floss needle
Now if you use Dishie instead of Sugar n Cream, it might come out slightly smaller than mine (4.5 inches), but will absolutely still be large enough for a big mug.
There are so many fun ways to customize your spider! You can make them in different colors, and give them completely different expressions! Have fun with it!
